Periodontology
The accumulation of calculus leads to inflammation of the gums (gingivitis), and in some cases to bone loss and tooth mobility (periodontitis).
Regular calculus cleanings and examinations to measure the depths (pockets) around the teeth are extremely helpful in preserving them over the years. If necessary, additional treatment is prescribed in the affected areas and a series of control examinations.
